A profile for adventure bikes
The adventure motorcycle profile picks roads that the map marks as open to motorcycles. The vehicle class sets how rough it may get. Paths can be unlocked on purpose, fords avoided. The adventure profile looks for well rideable gravel, maximum unpaved takes as much as possible regardless of difficulty.
A loop from your door
A loop starts at your location or a chosen point. Set distance or riding time, the gravel share you want and a direction, then compare several variants. Each one shows distance, climb and surfaces. Loops are calculated online only.
GPX and roadbook
Import rides from forums or friends as GPX, show them and follow them in the app. Record your own rides, publish them, and others confirm them by riding them. If you ride by roadbook, the Android app has its own area with a tulip roll and a tripmaster; see rally and roadbook.
On the handlebars
The Android app on Google Play shows turn instructions, remaining distance and speed, speaks the next turn and reroutes when you leave the route. A touch lock prevents accidental taps. Mount, power and device are covered on device, mount, power.
What NavX4 does not do
- There is no bicycle or hiking profile; NavX4 routes motor vehicles.
- No iPhone app.
- NavX4 does not say whether a route suits your skills. The difficulty comes from map data, not from a ride.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good navigation app for adventure motorcycles offroad?
You need navigation that joins unpaved roads open to motorcycles into routes, reads GPX and keeps guiding without signal. NavX4 does this as a free Android app: packages with map and place search cover 384 regions, routing without signal works in Europe.
Can I use my phone as motorcycle navigation?
Yes. NavX4 runs on Android phones from Android 8.0. On the bike you need a solid mount and power; guidance carries on while the display is dark.
Where can I find offroad motorcycle routes near me?
NavX4 builds a loop from your location with the gravel share you choose. Community tracks recorded and published by other riders come on top. Whether a road is open is decided by the signs on site.
Can I ride a GPX route from a forum?
Yes. Import the GPX file in the app or the browser and follow it in the app. Check its age and origin first: a track from a forum is no permission.
