navx4.com is run on our own servers at IONOS SE (Germany). When you open a page, the web server necessarily processes your IP address as well as the date, time and the requested resource in connection and error logs. This data serves exclusively the secure operation and is kept for a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).
If you agree in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and processes information about your use of this website (e.g. pages visited, time spent, browser used, shortened IP address). Data may be transferred to Google servers in the USA in the process; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We use the reports to understand how NavX4 is used and to improve the app and the website.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. With the feedback form on the home page you can send us a feature request or report a bug. The following is processed: the type of report, title and description, your browser’s identifier (user agent), the size of your browser window, the language of the page you opened, the products you ticked (Android app, web app, website, other) and, only if you enter it, your email address. Entering an email address is voluntary; without it, however, we cannot reply to you.
Your IP address is not stored. To limit automated mass reports, we form a shortened hash from your IP address and the current calendar day and store only this hash. It changes daily and cannot be assigned to a person; we do not keep the IP address itself in stored form.
The form is shown on navx4.com, the report is transferred to our application on navx4.app and stored there. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving our offering), if you enter an email address additionally Art. 6(1)(b) or (a) GDPR. Reports are deleted as soon as they have been dealt with and no further questions are to be expected, at the latest after 24 months. You can request deletion at any time at info@iexlabs.com; please state the title of your report.
The home page shows how many public community tracks and curated routes there are in NavX4 and, once we release it, the number of registered accounts. Your browser fetches these counts from our application on navx4.app when the page loads (/api/v1/stats). In doing so, the server on navx4.app necessarily receives the same connection data as with every page request (IP address, time, browser identifier, see section 2). The request contains no cookies and no identifier; the application stores nothing about it and does not evaluate it. The response only contains numbers, no information about individual persons or content. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in showing the scope of the offering).
On the “Status and Roadmap” page your browser fetches, in the same way, the public roadmap with vote counts and the version list from navx4.app (/api/public/roadmap, /api/public/versionen). These requests also contain no cookies and no identifier, and the application stores nothing about them. You cannot vote on this page; that is only possible when signed in, in the app or on navx4.app.
On the help page “Device, mount, power” your browser only loads the public catalogue of the offline packages from navx4.app (/packages/catalog-v2.json), the same one the app reads, when you press the button “Load pack sizes from the catalogue”. In doing so, the server on navx4.app receives the same connection data as with every page request (see section 2). The request contains no cookies and no identifier; the response is a public file with names, sizes and checksums of the packages, without information about persons. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in showing you the size of the packages before downloading).
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, contact info@iexlabs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Ansbach.
There is no automated decision-making including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
