Campervan navigation for gravel roads

With a campervan, motorhome or self built van every centimetre counts: one bridge with a weight limit or one narrow passage ends the trip. NavX4 blocks roads whose mapped limits your vehicle exceeds and still plans as much gravel as it can.

Height, width, length, weight and axle load

Enter the dimensions of your vehicle in its profile. NavX4 removes every road whose mapped restriction your vehicle exceeds. Dimension data covers about 1.3 million road sections in Europe. Where the map has no value, the road is unchecked; NavX4 says so and does not claim it fits.

Pick the vehicle class as well: a van without all wheel drive gets no roads that the map marks as needing it.

Save and share your spots

Save your own places with a symbol and a category, among them wild camping, motorhome, swimming, picnic and shore. Use them as destination or stop, share them in your group or publish them as community places. Waypoints with a symbol alert you as you get close.

Plan trips, across borders too

Routing covers all of Europe. Stay in your start country or plan across borders; for every country on the route NavX4 shows the stored rules on driving forest and farm tracks with their legal source. Ferries, tolls and motorways can be avoided. Save the route to your account and start it in the Android app; you can prepare it calmly in the browser at navx4.app beforehand.

What NavX4 does not do for campers

  • There is no dedicated motorhome profile with typical speeds of heavy vehicles. NavX4 works with vehicle profile, vehicle class and dimensions.
  • NavX4 has no database of campsites or overnight spots and does not say where you may stay overnight. Your saved places are your own notes.
  • There is no iPhone app.

Frequently asked questions

Is there campervan navigation that respects height and weight?

NavX4 respects the height, width, length, weight and axle load of your vehicle and blocks roads with a mapped restriction your vehicle exceeds. It has no dedicated motorhome profile; it combines vehicle profile, vehicle class and dimensions.

Does NavX4 show campsites?

No. NavX4 has no campsite database. You can save your own places with categories such as wild camping or motorhome, share them and navigate to them.

Is wild camping allowed?

Each country and often each region rules this differently, and NavX4 does not check it. The country rules in NavX4 cover driving on roads and tracks, not staying overnight. Check with the authorities of the country before you travel.

Can I navigate offline with my campervan?

Yes, in the Android app with offline packages: map and place search without signal in 384 regions worldwide, routing in Europe as well. Routes calculated offline carry no surface data and no avoidances.
